FIRST FRIDAY AT CASA DE ESPAÑOL

THE WAY THAT LEADS AMONG THE LOST

On Friday, October 2, 2026, come enjoy the wisdom of Dr. Angela Garcia, anthropologist and author of The Way That Leads Among The Lost: Life, Death and Hope in Mexico City’s Anexos at CASA de ESPAÑOL. In what little coverage they receive, Anexos’ are depicted as criminal hideouts run and inhabited by Mexico’s most marginalized populations, but Dr. Garcia sees them as desperately needed community refuges. The evening will leave you wondering how you can help. Enjoy the ticketed VIP experience from 5:00–7:00 pm, followed by CASA de ESPAÑOL’s R Street First Friday festivities including live bands, a tequila and wine bar, music, dancing, and an artisan market. Each ticket includes a copy of The Way That Leads Among The Lost: Life, Death and Hope in Mexico City’s Anexos, an array of Mexican food and complimentary wine. Tickets are $125 per person. Limited to 40 guests.
